We're running a little behind today, as we had to do some work - we have to pay for the mealworms somehow - so we are only just sorting out last night's videos. This is rather a long one, but we thought it was worthwhile as it is rather unusual, at least for us. One hedgehog arrived in the alley outside the ATM. Then another wanders up... and another - and they all hang around for a while. I would love to know what they were saying to each other. At least they seemed quite friendly.

Lovely video of a charming scene.
ReplyDeleteA change of batch on the mealworms here went down well. When I checked the dish after Honey had moved on I found that she had eaten nearly all the crushed peanuts so that must be her favourite.
Thank you for the mention, the link and your kind comment.
Lovely footage of the three hogs together. There's an especially nice shot at around 6:10 when the hog in the foreground looks directly at the camera.
ReplyDeleteJohn, geeat news about the mealworms. We are not sure that it is an issue of cost, there just seem to be some bad batches about. We switched to getting them from ebay (at less than 1/3 the price we were paying) after two out of four tubs from a normally very good supplier were not nice. The ebay ones have been the nicest. I suppose it it the old British thing - did we complain and send them back? No...
ReplyDeleteWe must try some peanuts again. In the early days we put them out but as the mealies went best we sort of switched to those, but it would be interesting to see if the new hedgies have different tastes.
It is nice to see the hedgies getting on together. The pushing and shoving is entertaining, but I prefer to see them being nice to each other.
